Crafted in New York prior to Gibson’s acquisition of Epiphone, this earlier incarnation of the fabled Texan is notable for it’s extensive use as Jimi Hendrix’s preferred songwriting acoustic and also that of Kurt Cobain. Sometime in the 1960s, the whole instrument was authentically refinished in three tone sunburst, likely owing to a repair on the top below the pick guard. An exceptional player, the neck is a comfortable soft medium V shape, impeccably straight and setup for a low action. Complete with the original c. 1950 Lifton hardshell case.
