The Drawmer 1979 is a modern analogue channel strip designed to deliver clean capture, musical tone shaping, and classic compression in a single 1U unit. At its core is an ultra-transparent mic preamp with mic, line, and instrument DI inputs, offering up to 66 dB of stepped gain and switchable impedance to get the best performance from any microphone, from condensers to ribbons and vintage dynamics.

Tone shaping is handled by a fully variable three-band parametric EQ with ±12 dB of cut or boost and a switchable mid-band bandwidth, making it equally suited to subtle enhancement or precise corrective work. Drawmer’s Lift circuit adds natural dynamic control by gently boosting quieter signals without affecting louder passages, reducing dynamic range smoothly and musically without compression artefacts.

Dynamics are further refined by a soft-knee FET compressor, capable of everything from transparent vocal levelling to more assertive drum and instrument control. Flexible routing allows you to change the EQ and compressor order, bypass each section independently, and blend processing using the wet/dry mix for parallel compression. A large backlit VU meter provides clear level monitoring, while the output stage offers precise level matching to your interface or downstream gear. Combining clarity, flexibility, and classic analogue character, the Drawmer 1979 is an ideal front end for vocals, acoustic instruments, piano, and detailed studio recordings.
